German Military
The Michigan Traveling Military Museum features a number of interesting captured German military and political items that were brought home as souvenirs by our returning servicemen. MTMM has a nice selection of Nazi daggers and swords, field equipment, flags, hats, helmets, insignia, medals, patches, uniforms and more. These artifacts are excellent educational tools to help better understand the Nazi regime's use of regalia as part of their extensive propaganda machine. Our display of these artifacts is not meant to glorify Nazi Germany. We feel their inclusion to our museum is very important as they help tell the story of how a cultured country like Germany could be transformed into such an evil and powerful state in a span of just a few years. We are actively purchasing items of this type for our collection, so please check back with us from time to time to see our new additions.
