Items Wanted

We Pay Cash for Your Military War Items

The Michigan Traveling Military Museum is always looking to purchase original Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II, Korea War and Vietnam War items for our display. As you can see, we have a special interest in obtaining complete named U.S. uniform, insignia, medal and paperwork groupings. Unlike many dealers or so-called collectors/historians, we feel it is our duty to keep these historical groupings together. If our museum agrees to purchase a group of historical military items that belonged to one of your cherished family members or friends, rest assured that they will stay together as a set.

Our museum also has a strong interest in purchasing all types of U.S. military items as well as captured enemy items and equipment from Germany and Japan. Please check our Want List for the type of items we are looking to purchase. If you have a question about an item or items you may be thinking of selling, please contact us, and we will let you know if it something we need for our display and what we would be willing to pay.

t 2The Michigan Traveling Military Museum's latest addition features Sergeant Lewis A. Towns, a valiant Kent County, Michigan native who served in the U.S. Army Armored Corps from 1941 to 1945 during World War II. Initially training as a truck driver, radio operator, and gunner, Towns quickly became a tank commander within the 3rd Armored Division, specifically in Company I of the 32nd Armored Regiment.

His leadership and bravery were pivotal in several key battles across Normandy, Northern France, the Ardennes, the Rhineland, and Central Europe. Despite suffering injuries and losing multiple tanks, Sgt. Towns exemplified courage, notably during a harrowing rescue in Weismuller, Germany, which earned him the Silver Star Medal and two Purple Heart Medals.

His story, commemorated by the Michigan Traveling Military Museum, highlights the perilous duties of a tank commander and the indomitable spirit required to face the superior firepower of German forces during the conflict. Read the full story here.

Sgt. Jack F. Rolland

The Michigan Traveling Military Museum is pleased to announce that 2018 was our most successful year yet for the purchase of military relics. We obtained items from all the different military service branches, as well as a nice selection of captured German and Japanese items.

Recently, we continued this trend with the addition of the Sgt. Jack F. Rolland "killed in action" military collection. This fine grouping includes his original medals, insignia, patches, photographs and paperwork.

We also had the opportunity to add to our collection a nice grouping of original german daggers and bayonets, as well as an original Japanese helmets, flags, and medals. All in all, it's a great start to a New Year.
